A comprehensive and in-depth practical workshop for both the beginning and intermediate sculptor. Insights into design, techniques, new materials, and essentials skills used in modern moldmaking and casting. Emphasis will be on problem solving and individual success with each student completing a flexible blanket style mold and casting. This mold will be suitable for casting in any wax, plaster, concrete, or resin. The method of hollow wax casting will be demonstrated and a final class “take-home” casting will be in hydracal. Craftsmanship encouraged. Informative question-and-answer sessions with handouts, on-going demonstrations (including life-casting), and an industry guest.
