2023 Premonition of Life… After
This ‘mezzo’ Bas Relief sculpture grew out of a series of sketches in which the Moebius Loop, (a universal symbol for ‘infinity’) would act as a milieu to weave & envelop eight suspended tumbling figures, all captured within this swirling and ‘transitional’ (as inscribed) environment. This sculpture tested my ability to model in multipoint linear perspective, within a very dynamic background. Text was added to clarify and reinforce the content.
2022 Late One Night…
Inspired and conceived by watching circus performers when acrobatic skill, athleticism , and theatre tell a story. Employing an animated ‘Y’ form for the overall composition seemed to convey the action. The event here is viewed as a predicament, provoking more questions than are answered.
2021 Family Vacation
This piece began with a personal challenge, that is, to integrate three figures into a loose ‘ball’ , or spheric form, joining them together as a family, or a sort of menage a trois. Finally, the hilly base including a couple of large precarious rocks, provided the context, and completed the narrative.
2020
The year we moved home and studio to Nevada City, CA. The year was dedicated to upgrading the home/ gallery, and building a new studio. This was a period of transition leaving practically no time to devote to expanding my portfolio.
